Unhappy Filtnt.sys Bsod

Hi..

I'm using oupost 2.7 484/412..

I just had a blue screen:

Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

FILTNT.SYS - Adress BAD6EDB1 base at BAD6A000, Date Stamp 4296F3AA

In oupost 2.5 and 2.6, i never had this blue screen because of FILTNT.SYS..

I use Windows XP PRO SP2, and my machine is a P4 HT 3.2 with 1GB RAM..

By the way my FILTNT.SYS version:

filtnt.sys 2.6.412.5327

I know that the problem is in the oupost code ( i think ), but i would like to hear your opinon.

Re: Filtnt.sys Bsod

Digitalfox,

The filtnt.sys file for Outpost 2.7 should be version 2.7.412.5403. Your version looks like it belongs to Outpost 2.6 which suggests that your upgrade did not work completely (did you use Agnitum Update)? In this case, I'd suggest downloading the latest version of Outpost from Agnitum's website and uninstalling/reinstalling (see Outpost 2.7 - what to expect for detailed upgrade instructions).

SweetLouise,

Could you please also check the version of your filtnt.sys file (it is in the Kernel subfolder of the Outpost program directory) to see if it is the correct version?

Re: Filtnt.sys Bsod

Hi all,

When playing with the uninstall/install procedure for Outpost 2.6 -> 2.7.484 -> 2.7.485, I have found, that after uninstalling Outpost, the Outpost Firewall Kernel Driver is still installed as a hidden device (Windows XP -> use the option Show Hidden Devices in Device Manager). I have used the uninstall command, rebooted, and then installed the newer version of Outpost. Then the installation went through without any troubles.
